A Pink Dress, a figurative pastel painted at the Palette & Chisel
A Pink Dress, 16×20, Soft Pastel on Board, 2/4/2012
A Pink Dress is a figurative painting of a lovely young woman who sat for use at the Palette & Chisel. She had such a demure air about her, and she was an exceptional model with much poise and control over her posture. Her lovely blonde locks drape over her shoulders as she gazes into the viewer’s eyes. Her hand rests on her black stockings as she sits on a pedestal for the delight of the artists fervently toiling over their artworks, and a delicate necklace with a small pendant graces her decoutage.
The woman wearing a pink dress spoke with a soft and delightful voice, and complimented the artist between breaks. Her presence in the room offered solace and calm to the artists as she viewed each of the works, and when her breaks were over and she got back upon her pedestal, she was as solid and composed as a marble sculpture.
